Lockhardt's inspiration came to him one year when he, like many families, realized he forgot something and ran to complete his "Santa duty", quickly eating cookies and drinking milk at 5:30 in the morning. That's when the idea of "I caught Santa" was born.

Today is your 6th birthday. I have a six-year-old. I can’t possibly be that old can I? When I look at you … I don’t always see a tall and skinny six-year-old boy. Since the late 90's, the Turtles have been mainstays of pop culture. In fact … I don't think they've ever been off TV or out of the comic book stores.
When the toys started to become popular again, a piece of me wanted my boys to get into the very same thing that I played with when I was a kid. My oldest is all about superheroes and old school toys so I was sure this would catch on and stick. But it just didn’t. And that’s ok. He is a mini clone of his Dad and my husband was too old for TMNT by the time they released (he’s 9 years older than me).
