Avoiding the Summer's Heat with Netflix Family

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Netflix.

We’ve hit that part of the summer when I’ve run all out of ideas to keep my boys busy and it’s just too hot to walk over to the neighborhood pool because we all know that eventually … we’re going to have to make that (what seems like) never-ending walk back home.

A couple months ago I admitted that I sometimes use Netflix as a babysitter. I was giggling at some of your responses and it also made me realize that I. Am. A. Normal. Mother.
Especially during the summer when we’re cooped up inside and have painted everything but the walls (which if I don’t keep my toddler busy long enough … would eventually happen).

I don’t think I know a family who doesn’t have Netflix and if I do … what are you waiting for?? Especially if you have kids! It’s a blessing to have all that access to a wide variety of family-friendly TV shows and movies at the same cost of a bottle of wine couple jugs of milk.

Netflix has recently launched their new Netflix Family section on their website which provides a breakdown of the basics of Netflix and a list of family friendly content that’s available on through their service.

The new Netflix Family site contains a series of tutorials about what video streaming is, as well as different lists of content, including Family Movie Night and even an "Are We There Yet" playlist, which includes shows like "Scooby Doo" for watching in an airport during a layover. My family is big on traveling so these two playlists will be used the most by us!

While I do believe that summer should be spent soaking up some Vitamin D, I also believe that kids work so hard during the other nine months that they deserve to have a little break from practicing their letters and numbers. And Mom does too! Plus, we live in Humidity Central (aka: Kansas) … so when the temperature is 101 outside, it feels like 178 degrees. Even the pool feels like a sauna during the months of July and August.

As a mom to two very rambunctious little boys … I feel like Netflix was thinking about ME when they started their service!
It's completely normal to watch Netflix Family in your skibbies, right? He's a dude ... I'm sure it is!
